Happy

This is me and hubby, I know this picture quality isnt great, but I chose it cause you can see how really happy we are together. Then and Now. We could take that same picture today.

Human -being

My aunt came to visit me once, and I decided to take her on a little float, nothing big about maybe 2-3 miles, easy water. Well. our raft developed a leak, and by the time we got to our destination we were literally sitting on a floating heap of rubber, it was hilarious.
and this lil brute is my baby brother, He was very happy to see me as he hadn't seen me since he was like maybe 6 or so. and he was very exhuberant in his welcome!

Younger brother

My younger brother.. Again the pics were taken years apart. I went home for a visit and then he came up to visit me once. I havent seen him in a very long time..years.

One of my brothers

Myself and my oldest brother. He fancied himself Elvis Presley. I haven't seen him in many years. He had just gotten out of the military and returned from overseas.

Dear Old Dad

Here is my father and myself., He is failing and I have not seen him in a very long time, My husband and my father hit it off quite nicely, this pic is from the visit that I introduced him to my dad. My ex husband and fathers introduction did not go as well. I miss my daddy.

A couple of us girls

I have some pics I am going to be sharing here on my blog with those interested. I Have not been drawing, I am having 'issues' at the moment, but will be back at it soon. I still also have not rec'd my moley book, maybe this week it will show up.
anyway, these pics are kind of funny now looking back on them..it makes me smile, I went back home years ago and took this pic of me and two of my sisters. I hadnt seen them since they were very young and I just couldnt get over them as very young women. Then I went back home a few years after that visit, and they just could not wait for me to see the 'new developments' my goodness, they sure out grew their big sister. LOL..

My 3 Guys

Yep, here they are...Three of the most important males in my life..My sweet Oliver, My schizo yorkie and my sweet hubby. All piled into the truck for the Dump run. Our dump is only 6 or 8 miles away but it is the most thrilling of all rides of the week for the dogs, as this one is with DAD.. It is a 'special' ride that they look forward to and just relish in.

Oliver you will note is in training, thats why the odd flashy orange collar..Not for anything in particular much more than his boundaries, as he tends to S-T-R-E-T-C-H those as far as possible. He is funny, he will stand on his boundary line, look back over his shoulder to see if he is being watched, and when he 'thinks' the coast is clear he will slowly meander his way out of his bounds. We have nearly 7 acres, at least a football field of yard and still that is not enough, sheesh.

The Zoo

On my last visit home I stayed with my sister and we went to the zoo in Baton Rouge, it was a wonderful day, and so very hot..the animals laid low. that was around 3 years ago now I guess..seems longer

my last visit home

This is a photo of me (redhair), my little sister on my right, my mother (first time i had seen her in like 17 years) and my sister in law. This was a very nice visit home, my last one actually on that side of the family about 2 or 3 years ago. The tub of crawfish we had, I miss the food from home very much. A family friend being silly and a little bird that had fallen out of its nest.

national backyardographic

Here is a little nature video. As natural as it gets, My lil jinx cat on the hunt. We have a large dragon fly hatch here. They are so beautiful, I love seeing them, unfortunately so do my kittens and every evening they sit outdoors and catch them, it is awesome to see the flips and loops they do jumping into the air to grab them up, and I am so amazed at the heights these kittens can achieve from straight up off the ground. They really are a wonder.

Idea Headaches

I have been having idea headaches..ever get those? I just have too many to concentrate, I am glad that I have the period of time to think before the sketchbook arrives, yet at the same time my head may split wide open with ideas just waiting for it.
There are many different ways this sketchbook thingy can go, WOW! I have been thinking 'should I simply unfold the pages and make one large picture (remember my theme is danger). Perhaps a nuclear submarine on the long stretched out page, or the twin towers on the stretched out page, with the names of the victims along the sides of them, or perhaps create the towers themselves using the names..then I trash these ideas, and move on to this one:
Danger signs, danger signs that are posted all around the globe, perhaps the word 'danger' in many different languages on the last page? I looked this idea up and the number and types of danger signs are numerous, certainly enough to fill the book..so I keep this idea,
Then I move onto this one: Perhaps the danger of the land and sea, with its wild animals and reptiles, and sea critters, this idea I also keep.
Then there are the danger of household products and chemicals from around the globe, with their many cautions, that would also make a good message as well.
Then I looked up nuclear (hubby works around it so it keeps popping into mind as very dangerous) but the nuclear ideas of danger are very numerous too..with its radiation and safety warnings.
The city also comes into mind, being very familiar with the large cities and very aware of the dangers that lurk on practically every corner. I could stretch out the page creating a city building landscape, with the windows that lift out so you can see into them, doorways that open, I even thought about cutting out a van and affixing it to a page in a fashion so that it can move down the page, as though driving down the street.
There are soo many ideas, I have been thinking of cutting windows in some pages so you have to lift them to see, or creating something that can pop out in a 3d fashion, This idea I really like and tend to have this one at the top of my list as well as the 'danger signs', the signs will probably end up winning out though. They are plentiful and will be much easier for sure. We'll see, but if I didn't get some of the ideas down on this blog I surely would have popped!!
I have an idea headache, do you ever get those?

Art House Co-op

I have read Sonias blog regarding the ARTHOUSE Co-OP and just had to get involved myself. I signed up yesterday and received my randomly selected theme today. Hmm..I have no idea what to do as of yet, but I am thinking on it. My theme assigned is 'Danger-Danger'. The theme is certainly not something I would have 'picked' myself, so it will have me stepping 'outside of my box' so to speak. I am under the impression that I may do anything at all to do this book so long as it folds back up to its original 5x8 size. In the video I watched, people got pretty creative, with cutouts, and adding things and what not. Perhaps I will try predatory animals, that is a 'danger' isn't it? Things like poisonous frogs with their bright colors to warn you off, snakes as well, sharks, stalking wildcats,
Or we could try the city, pickpockets, robbers, rapist etc..
How about Natural disasters- hurricanes, earthquakes etc.?
My Thanks to Sonia for sharing this website, It will be lovely knowing we have our very own little book added to their library.
I see we have a couple of ppl from drawspace now, Sonia, Jeanne and myself so far.
Go check it out. Let us know if you decide to join in, we will be thrilled to have you.
I will of course post my lil works here to share with everyone. I hope to see you join!

Doll House

Here are some pics of a dollhouse I created a couple of years ago. Every single piece of furniture is handmade and handpainted in sculpey. I worked on this project for an entire winter, the house actually has electricity and I even hand made the lamps. The wall paper and patterned flooring was printed out on my pc,glued, and sealed. the rugs I also printed out but on iron on paper and then ironed it onto real floor cloth. The ceiling was even texture painted.
The tub was created using half a plastic bottle with plaster, that is the only furniture thing that is NOT clay. This clay is not fragile when baked, it is very strong and sturdy stuff.
The family is completely posable though still unpainted at that stage, I put a lighter to give a size idea. I also made every single plant inside and out..this was so much fun and work, I loved every minute of it. The drawers really open and so do the doors and the t.v. I shrunk down the football game put it in there with a small light inside and it looks as though the game is actually on and the fireplace has a lil electric fire in it as well. I also made one for the granddaughter but I purchased the furniture for that one and it wasnt electrified either.
I also enjoy woodworking as well as sculpting and drawing, and have even been know to produce some lovely crochet and knit work as well. The arts have kept me quite happy.
